Crowdsourcing meets MTV

Sour puts the face in the crowd

Andy Warhol said "In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes." Today, thanks to the Internet, the proliferation of web cams, and cheap video editing tools, Warhol might have to rephrase his famous aphorism to: "In 15 minutes, everyone will be famous."

In this sweet, clever music video, the band Sour has crowdsourced the cast directly from their own fan base. Each of the hundreds of scenes was filmed straight from a web cam, with participants logging on from around the world. The result is a lovely testament to community and creativity directed by Masashi Kawamura + Hal Kirkland + Magico Nakamura + Masayoshi Nakamura.

  1. FINALLY! I am not a big athletic supporter but am married to a sports fan. A couple of years ago, I was obsessed with a couple who had seats about five rows back from courtside at the NBA championships. They had nachos, corndogs and giant drinks with straws that seemed to appear from nowhere....and they never left their seats or stopped chewing! I have a very healty digestive system but even after that kind of intake over a couple of hours...I think a trip to the toilet would be more urgent than a three point shot from half court.
Maybe they were wearing catheters and colostomy bags...I wonder where they found shoes to match??
